A Russian woman who had been pronounced dead woke up before grieving mourners at her own funeral. The shock of seeing where she was caused her to suffer a fatal heart attack. Her distraught husband is planning to sue the hospital.
Woman pronounced dead from a heart attack
Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov, a 49-year-old woman, suffered a heart attack and collapsed at her home in Kazan, Russia, some days ago. She was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
She woke up inside her own coffin
Days later, laying in her own coffin at her own funeral, she awakened to see grieving mourners walking past, praying for her immortal soul. She started screaming after she realized what was happening. She was immediately rushed back to the hospital. But the shock was too much for her, and shortly thereafter she died for the final time.
‘They could have saved her,’ husband says
The woman’s 51-year-old husband, Fagili Mukhametzyanov, recounted his wife’s final harrowing moments: “Her eyes fluttered. But she only lived for another 12 minutes in intensive care before she died again, this time for good.”
Husband plans to sue the hospital
Fagili says that he plans to sue the hospital. “She wasn’t dead when they said she was and they could have saved her,” he said. “I am very angry and want answers.”
The hospital launches an investigation
Minsalih Sahapov, a spokesman for the hospital, said that an investigation would be conducted into the matter.
Not the first ‘corpse’ to awaken
There have been other events of a similar nature recorded around the world in recent times. A baby, born prematurely, was pronounced dead in Paraguay. The infant woke up at its own funeral, only to die a short time later. And a man in Brazil was reported to have shown up alive for his own funeral.
