CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau, working on a series about young conservative activists, became the target of right wing punk “journalist” James O’Keefe. O’Keefe, who achieved notoriety as a fake pimp in a video punk that led to the demise of an organization that advocated for minorities and the poor, plotted to trick Boudreau to conduct an interview in which he would try to humiliate her with sexual harassment captured by a hidden camera. She was spared from the ordeal by an unlikely ally. A woman working for O’Keefe came to her senses and informed Boudreau of the plot.
Abbie Boudreau doesn’t end up seduced by O’Keefe
Abbie Bourdeau is an award winning investigative journalist. Lately she has been working on a piece with right wing video producers, reports CNN. A video shoot with O’Keefe in it was something Boudreau was excited to work on. Sensing opportunity, O’Keefe, who calls his video ambush operation “Project Veritas,” persuaded Boudreau to meet him in person, alone. He set up a room on a boat that had condoms, sex toys and champagne in it that was also being recorded secretly. He was planning to lure her there somehow. O’Keefe was a little bit conceited when he assumed Boudreau would be seduced. He thought he’d have no problem. He wanted to capture the tryst on camera in hopes of a viral video. He was planning to ruin Boudreau’s career. Instead, he may have very well just killed his own.
Hearing about O’Keefe’s conceited desires
Izzy Santa, who is the director of Project Veritas, put a stop to O’Keefe’s process. Boudreau didn’t get on the boat after Santa stopped Boudreau and warned her as she was going in. The media has already started making fun of O’Keefe’s plan. The Los Angeles Times’ Jon Healy reported on it. He said that O’Keefe was definitely “beyond brain dead,” when he came up with his plan. According to Healy, it would have ended up being more like sexual harassment caught on camera anyway, as O’Keefe doesn’t have the best seductive techniques in the world. CNN got hold of a script that included O’Keefe saying “So, I’m going to seduce her, on camera, to use her for a video. This bubble-headed bleach-blonde who comes on at five will get a taste of her own medicine; she’ll get seduced on camera and you’ll get to see the awkwardness and the aftermath.”
