A recent JetBlue flight to New York’s JFK Airport may win the bid for worst air travel experience ever. Passengers were forced to endure a drunken teenager urinating on a girl. Later, another man vomited in the cabin.

Bathroom occupied

The flight was Wednesday night’s red-eye flight from Portland, Ore., to JFK. One of the passengers, 18-year-old Robert Vietze of South Warren, Vt., after consuming eight alcoholic drinks, rose from his seat and stumbled five rows behind him toward the jet’s lavatory. When he found the room to be occupied, he began urinating on a sleeping 11-year-old girl who was traveling with her sister and father.

Girl’s father furious

The girl’s father was using the lavatory at the time. He came out to catch Vietze in the act. Reportedly, the father began shouting and using obscenities. “F— that kid. I don’t want him near my family,” he said, according to one of the other passengers. Flight attendants separated the two before the situation could escalate and removed Vietze to the back of the plane.

“I was drunk, and I did not realize I was pissing on her leg,” Vietze later explained to authorities.

Another unsavory incident

There was more to come. About an hour before the plane was scheduled to land, another passenger complained of chest pains and vomited inside the cabin. The pilot came out and addressed the passengers, asking if there was a doctor or a nurse on board, but nobody came forward.

The flight crew scrambled for the remainder of the flight to get the mess cleaned up.

Authorities waiting

Six Port Authority Police Officers greeted the flight when it landed at 6:30 a.m. Two of the officers attended to the sick man, and the other four took Vietze into custody. Vietze has since received a federal summons for indecent exposure.

An earlier incident

Last June, another drunken man was arrested for urinating on passengers on-board a flight. The man, Michael Aitkin, 20, of new Zealand, was on a Jetstar flight from Auckland to Singapore drinking whiskey with his friends. He urinated on a man’s leg and soaked a woman’s scarf. Aitkin later apologized profusely to the airline, crew and passengers and faced no legal action.
